Edward A. Sausville, M.D., Ph.D.
Associate Director for Clinical Research of the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center. He is also Professor of Medicine, Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics in the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and Affiliate Professor of Pharmaceutical Science in the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1978 and M.D. in 1979 from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City. Following medical house-staff training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he was a Fellow in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, he was a Medical Staff Fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD and is certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. His research interests include elucidation of the molecular mechanism of novel therapeutic agents, signal transduction modulators for cancer treatment, and early phase clinical trials of new drugs for cancer treatment.
Mario Sznol, M.D.
Professor of Internal Medicine and Co-Director of the Melanoma Program of the Yale Cancer Center. Prior to Yale, he was Vice President of Clinical Affairs for Vion Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Vion, Dr. Sznol was Head of the Biologics Evaluation Section, Investigational Drug Branch, Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program of the National Cancer Institute. During his professional career, Dr. Sznol has focused on clinical development of cytokines, vaccines, antibodies and bacterial products for treatment of cancer. Dr. Sznol conducted his fellowship in Medical Oncology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, and his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
